La petrolera francesa Total reportó el martes una caída menor que la esperada de un 22 por ciento en su utilidad neta del primer trimestre, luego de que un aumento de los márgenes de refino y un sólido crecimiento de la producción de crudo y gas compensaron en parte los precios del crudo más bajos.
"El grupo se está beneficiando de su estrategia de crecimiento orgánico", dijo el presidente ejecutivo Patrick Pouyanne en un comunicado. Total tiene como objetivo un aumento de un 8 por ciento en la producción de este año.
La ganancia neta ajustada de Total ascendió a 2.602 millones de dólares en el primer trimestre, y los ingresos cayeron un 30 por ciento a 42.313 millones de dólares.
Los analistas esperaban en promedio una ganancia neta ajustada de 2.050 millones de dólares, según estimaciones obtenidas por Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
